Music Magazines: how artists are presented differently

In this magazine mariah is presented in positive way, she is shown to be very glamorous and womanly, the surrounding of diamonds around her con notates this.

in comparison to the other magazine she is shown to be very youthful and it is clear that the target audience may be targeted towards teens, as the magazine involves a variety of colors and also the clothes she is wearing shows a youthful character

In comparison to both the previous magazine this magazine shows more of a suductive women and magazine mainly appealing to males, i can tell this due to the position she is posing and the clothes she is wearing also the magazine quoting "sexy rich single"

Music Magazine Article.

Music Magazine:

VIBE is a very popular music magazine and covers many famous artists such as T.I and Lil Wayne, the connotation of the magazine is shown clearly to be a hip hop/RnB genre magazine. vibe is a music and entertainment magazine founded by producer Quincy Jones, he decided to produce a magazine to feature just R&B and hip-hop music artists, actors and other entertainers. The magazine's target audience is purely young, urban followers of  the hip-hop culture."an issue of Vibe Magazine is published every-other month with double covers and a wide range of information, entertainment and news inside".
Quincy Jones launched Vibe in 1993, with the help from Time Inc. Originally, the magazine had been called Volume before the co-founding editor, Scott Poulson-Bryant gave it the name Vibe.
Vibe Magazine is known for its creative front covers.  R&B singer Mary J. Blige repeatedly made the cover of Vibe. Trio TLC were photographed for the cover also. And the first non-photograph cover of Vibe was an illustration of late singer Aaliyah, this was Aaliyah's very first appearance on the cover.
Inside the magazine there would include several pages of photo spreads showing just designer clothing as well as sportswear by urban labels& designers. This is key to why many people who enjoy this percific type of music would dress in a certain way (urban like).

                                      HIP HOP!

History of Hip Hop

Hip hop mainly started in the 80s with pieces of music (such as jazz) being tested in different ways for example using tongues (rapping). this escalted and eventually there was plenty of Biggie, Tupac, Dre, Snoop, Wu-Tang, Jay-Z, club classics, .
Some of the earliest rap songs ever recorded include "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" by Fatback Band and "Rapper’s Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang. The latter reached the #36 spot on the Billboard charts (a huge feat by 1970's standards), thus demonstrating hip-hop's ability to draw commercial appeal.A product of cross-cultural integration, rap is deeply rooted within ancient African culture and oral tradition. Hip-hop is believed to have originated in the Bronx by a Jamaican DJ named Kool Herc. Herc's style of deejaying involved reciting rhymes over instrumentals. At house parties, Herc would rap with the microphone, using a myriad of in-house references. Duplicates of Herc's house parties soon drifted through Brooklyn, Manhattan. Herc and other block party DJs helped spread the message of hip-hop around town and spawned tons of followers. Hip-hop is a form of popular music that's comprised mainly of emceeing and deejaying. The other two components that complete the four elements of hip-hop are graffiti and breakdancing. As hip-hop evolves into big business, the four elements are constantly being merged with others like clothing trends, slang, and general mindset.
